Testimonials

Our son James has been having drum lessons with Anthony at our home in West London now for over 5 years. When starting lessons, James was only 9 years old and studying for his debut grade, but is now working towards great 8! It’s a fantastic achievement, and Anthony has worked hard preparing James for every exam. Anthony is without a doubt a great drum teacher and a very easy person to get along with. Some of our friends’ children also have drum lessons with Anthony and all have nothing but good things to say. We really can’t recommend him highly enough! Thank you!

I just want to say a big thank you to Anthony! I have been playing drums for over 7 years as a hobby, but always had the ambition to take it further. During lockdown, I had the time on my hands, so reached out to Anthony for online drums lessons. In just 2 months I can already see a lot of progress – we have been working on different paradiddles and rolls and looking at how to incorporate them into grooves and fills. It’s opened up so many possibilities and has given me endless practice ideas to improve my drumming. If you’re on the fence about drum lessons, please just get in touch with Ant, you won’t regret it!

I can’t thank Anthony enough! I had been paying drums for over a year, but didn’t make much progress with a previous drum teacher. After lessons with Anthony, I now feel much more confident behind the kit and can play much more complex grooves and fills. I really can’t wait to see the progress we make over the next year!

After searching for drum lessons in West London, I came across Ant’s website – we’ve been having weekly lessons for over 3 months now and I’ve gone from complete beginner to playing along to some of my favourite songs like Enter Sandman by Metallica and Back in Black by AC/DC. I never thought this would be possible in such a short space of time. Thank you, Ant!

My son Thomas has been having drum lessons with Anthony now for over 12 months and he thoroughly enjoys every session. Thomas started as an absolute beginner and is now working towards his grade two! Anthony is an enthusiastic teacher, reliable and always a pleasure to have in the house!

I couldn’t have asked for a better teacher. I had never in my life played drums before and by the end of my first lesson I was able to hold a beat (I think) 😀 Simply awesome! Thanks Ant! :)”

Why take drum lessons?

In a world where all the information you need is at the click of a button, you might be questioning if taking drum lessons is entirely necessary. In short the answer is ‘yes’. While checking out different drum lessons online is a great way to learn, it is not the most effective, this is especially true for beginners.

When learning to play the drums you must first learn the fundamentals, then gradually build upon your existing knowledge. When taking drum lessons with me, I will give you tasks and exercises during each lesson that will build upon your previous lessons, ultimately leading to you becoming a better drummer. All of the material that is covered will be written down and given to you to take home and practice in your own time.

Along side being one of the most fun instruments to play, drumming also has a number of health benefits – Studies have shown that drumming can reduce stress and anxiety, boost your immune system and help you become more creative. Drumming can sometimes be quite a physical instrument and aids in keeping fit. Here is a great article by the BBC demonstrating that pro rock drummers are as fit as premiership footballers – read article.
